Are you looking to register your child for Kendriya Vidyalaya School Class 1 Admission? It’s important to know the age eligibility requirements before you start the application process. As per the recommendations of the ‘New Education Policy’, the Central Government has changed the age requirements for entry into class 1 in all Kendriya Vidyalaya schools for the AY 2022-23. Now, students must be at least 6 years old and no older than 8 to apply for class 1 in KV schools.

Minimum & Maximum Age Limit in KVS

Before filling the application form, parents must check the age eligibility of their child for class 1 in Kendriya Vidyalaya. The lowest permissible age is 6 years for the student to gain entry into the 1st grade in a Kendriya Vidyalaya. The KVS admission portal has been exclusively set up for applying to Standard 1 in Kendriya Vidyalaya in India for the academic year of 2023-2024. Don’t forget to provide the date of birth of your child while registering for the admission.

Eligibility Date of Birth in KVS Admission

According to the KVS admission guidelines, children who wish to be admitted to Bal Vatika – III must be at least 5 years old and must not exceed 6 years of age as of April 1, 2024. However, there is a 2-year relaxation in the upper age limit for applicants with disabilities. For the academic year 2024-2025, children in the general category seeking admission to Bal Vatika – III must have been born between April 1, 2017, and April 1, 2018. For children in the “Differently Abled” category, the allowable range of birth dates extends from April 1, 2015, to April 1, 2018.
