The Dearness Allowance (DA) for these employees is determined by the monthly average of the All India Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers (AICPIN) published by the Labour Bureau. The current calculation is based on the Consumer Price Index with a base year of 2016 (CPI-IW BY 2016=100), and new statistical data is released monthly which follows the same pattern for DA calculation. The final calculation for June and December will be made at the end of those particular months. As an example, the final calculation for June 2024 will approximate the DA from July 1, 2024.
